McGreevy Paul St. Charles East Athlete Class Of 2024 6'0 190
McGreevy Paul how was your junior season? My junior season was a great experience. We had a unique opportunity to build a new culture in our program at east with our new head coach and a great group of guys. I had some changes this year starting the summer as a QB, then playing the first five weeks at LB and FB before starting the last four at QB. Even with the change though I was able to grow on both sides of the ball and makes plays. At both LB and QB I was able to adjust to the speed of varsity and help my team a lot. We ended the year missing the playoffs after a tough Dukane schedule, but we laid the foundation to build up on going forward.
What does football mean to you? For me football is a huge part of my life. I’ve been obsessed with saints football since I started watching every game growing up. Now that I get to be a part of it it means a lot to me. It helps me stay focused in the classroom and through the rest of my day and most importantly has given me a ton of awesome relationships. What should college coaches know about you? College coaches should know that I am dedicated and loyal to my team. I’m selfless in working toward my team’s success always. I am able to make plays in all phases of the game, at QB, LB, FB, and on special teams. I’m a student of the game and love studying film to understand the game. What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason? I’ve been working a lot on my touch so I’m not only able to fit balls in tight windows but also able to put it over the defense when I need. I’ve also been working on my footwork out of both gun and under center to be more fluid. Defensively I’ve been working out to get stronger and faster.
What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? My biggest goal is to be a leader on our team and take our team to the playoffs. I also want to be more efficient with my passes so I can improve my completion percentage and continue to gain more of an understanding of different coverages.
What do you like about being a multiple sport player?
I’m competing all year. Instead of just being in that competitive mindset in the fall I get to do it all spring and summer too. It also lets me do different movements that help me be more of an athlete on the football field.
Who else on St. Charles East should college coaches know about? Bodey McCaslin is obviously our dude holding it down on the line. Charlie Bolsoni is going to be great for us at receiver. Charlie McArdle, Niko DiGiulio, and Joey Strada are all great athletes on the defensive side.
