Luke Neri Nazareth LB/ATH Class Of 2025 6'0 200
Luke Neri how is your offseason going so far? The off-season has been going great so far about a year ago I was very overweight, and slow. I got into fitness, started working out every day. That caused me to fall in love with football and everything it entails. I transferred from St. Francis last year, so I missed out on playing varsity, so this off-season going into junior year I know that I got to lock in and work hard. Which I have been so far, I’ve been lifting everyday even with baseball. I’ll have a game then come home that night and lift, my biggest problem has always been speed. So for the past 4 months I have really focused on weighted pulp metrics to get quicker for linebacker. How was your sophomore season last fall? My season was great I played tight end and outside linebacker I had 4 touchdowns and 6 sacks. The team was pretty good this year, we went 7-3 and had a lot of fun getting there.
What does football mean to you? Football means the world to me, I started playing when I was 4 years old. My dad played through college, and so did my grandpa. The best part about football is going out to practice after a long day of school and just releasing everything on your mind, because your so locked in on what is going on. What should college coaches know about you? They should know that I am a very hard worker and coachable kid, I would like to say I have a bright personality and that help with listening and performing, but I look at practice as a reason to get better, or I look at it as a privilege. I never complain About the hard times I put my head down n push through it. I love my work ethic because it’s translated to things outside of football and baseball, just like in school. I always try to study and get good grades, and put forth my time and hard work. What position do you feel most comfortable at? I feel most comfortable at linebacker and tight end.
What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?
My goals are for the team to go win another state championship, and to get as strong and as fast as possible for the next season.
Who on Nazareth is ready for a breakout season? I would have to go with Gabe Kaminski he puts in the work every day and he’s a 4 star already as only a sophomore.
