Talking With Fairfield Running Back Jay Snyder Class Of 2024

So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Jay Snyder Fairfield RB/ATH Class Of 2024 5'11 175

Jay Snyder how was your junior season? I actually missed my whole Junior Football Season due to an ACL tear week 1. But that gave me time to evaluate my game and focus on what i need to do to prepare myself for the game of football and what my team needs me to be at for us to be successful this coming season. What does football mean to you?

Football means a lot to me. It has helped me so many ways. It builds character and responsibility. Football lets me represent my family well and make them all proud. What should college coaches know about you? That I am a hard worker, and whoever decides to bet on me will not be disappointed. I’m a great leader and always willing to learn and develop my game all the time. Playing at the next level will be a dream come true to me and I’m going to give it 125%. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? That’s a tough one. I think my vision and being able to make quick cuts in the blink of an eye are my strongest traits. How does Fairfield look for the upcoming season? We are returning a lot of quality guys. I think we are a little disrespected after last season but I think we are still a top of the conference football team and I am expecting a deep playoff run. We are due for it and that’s what I’m working hard for.

Who on Fairfield is ready for a breakout season this fall? We have a couple of guys who are just a step or two away from breaking out. But I think Trey Mason and My Brother Latrael Snyder are both gonna have monster senior seasons. Me and Trey in the same backfield are gonna cause a lot of problems for defenses while my brother is gonna be one of the best backers in the conference. What game are you most excited for the upcoming season? The Sesser Valier game. That games already got some hype around it. They had a solid season. They beat us 15-12 in a nail biter at their place. They come to the Train Yard this year and me and my guys are ready for it. We have a tough atmosphere to play in and we are going to use it to our advantage.

What do incoming freshmen players need to know about the Fairfield program? They need to value their time wearing the mule logo and representing the town of Fairfield. The first thing they get told is “It goes by quickly” and it really does. They need to make the most of it and live in the present not the future.
