Anthony Marchese how was your sophomore season? My sophomore season was pretty good, it could have gone better record wise, but my team just got a new coach last year and we are getting a new one this year. So, it’s been rough lately but I’m looking forward to junior season we play in 8A division so it’s always good to go up against a powerhouse like Batavia and see where you match up against good competition. What does football mean to you? Football is like an escape from reality to me, once you get on that field or see those lights on Friday night there’s no better feeling, everything in your mind just goes away and I just get to start playing the game I love with my teammates. It’s a brotherhood I’ve met people I’ll never forget through football, and I don’t know where I would be without it. If I receive the blessing to play the sport after high school then so be it but if the day comes where I have to leave the sport of football, I’ve learned lessons I’ll have for a lifetime. What should college coaches know about you? I would like college coaches to know that I’m willing to play anywhere I am put, and I believe getting it done on and off the field is equally important, I would also like coaches to know that I am dedicated to my work and am willing to do anything to get to the next level What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I believe my strongest trait is using my footwork to get under the opponent and also getting to the next level on pull or run plays to create holes for my running backs. On the defensive side of the ball, I believe my strongest trait is my speed off the ball and hand fighting What excites you most about the upcoming season? what excites me the most about the upcoming season is getting to finally get back under the lights with my team and just tear it up, that’s why I love the sport. You can just go hit someone legally and let everything out. The noise of a loud hit, the noise of the crowd, the town behind you, there’s not better feeling and I can't wait to get back at it.
