We are back IHSA Football Family!!! As is every summer conference previews and again please remember predictions and previews mean crap. High school football is the greatest thing because of pure parity. What is up last year could be down this year and what is down last year can up this year. ANYTHING AND I MEAN ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN IHSA FOOTBALL. Last year, 2022 was mild to surprises and was calm predictable season. NORTH SUBURBAN CONFERENCE 2023 Season Preview
This is the wild North Suburban Conference, and I see nothing but different array of outcomes in this conference for 2023. Lake Zurich, Warren Township losses some key playmakers in graduation but their depth can easily take the next step this season. Warren Township has a tough two game start to their season out of the gates. Lake Zurich has the key playmakers at the defensive side of the ball along with size on the lines. Stevenson looks to be taking a huge step forward this season especially at offense with Fawcett at QB, could be a big-time key player in this conference. Libertyville is another challenger with amount of talented athletic line and very underrated passing attack. Lake Forest is my sleeper team this season after a lackluster 2022. The Scouts are looking to shock some teams this season especially with number of players returning. Mundelein has an easy road to 5 wins, but they need to get to 4-0 their first 4 weeks. Zion-Benton has the all the athletes, but the trenches will be the main questions. Waukegan is interesting this season and if they can get on the field running you might have to watch out. This NSC is going to be very wild for 2023, with some surprising outcomes. Never have seen so many new starters in one large school conference.

TELL ME WHY: NSC has been lacking in secondary star power this season. Which is very uncommon in this conference.

1. Warren Township scares me because they are quiet. Quiet Warren Township means a nightmare for other teams. I've learned that since 2016
2. Libertyville could shock some teams with overall athleticism at the skill spots. Wildcats could make a serious run for a title.
3. Lake Zurich will be only good as what their backfield can produce.
4. Mundelein must go on a hot streak those first weeks.
5. Stevenson defense must play lights out this season.
