Nick Day Antioch RB/ATH Class of 2024 5'10 195

Nick Day how was your season? I had a good season. I had so much fun my freshman year, my goal was to rush for 1,000 yards but came up a little short breaking my leg the second to last game. I was determined going into this season to give it everything I had. I was grateful for the opportunity my coaches gave me at the Varsity level, and for the reps I got. I loved competing at the Varsity level. I was proud again coming off an injury, literally getting released the day football started to hit 833 yards rushing for the season, averaging 6.6 yards per carry. What does football mean to you? It means everything to me. There is nothing like working hard in the off season with your teammates and friends who you’ve grown up playing football with and then putting it all out there on a Friday night. You could say I love this game more than anything. What should college coaches know about you? I’m willing to learn. I love this game, I love playing hard and I’m passionate about trying to play after high school and succeeding at it. I know I have a lot to learn still, I’m hear to absorb anything I can, work as hard as I can and then deliver. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I love getting the team fired up, I love when one of our WR makes a great catch, or when a LB had a tackle for a loss, I’m their biggest cheerleader, I want everyone on the field to have the game of their life each week! What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason? Speed and strength, again coming off an injury I felt like I was slow out of the gate to start the season, I plan on working all winter on my speed, agility, mobility. I felt robbed not being able to work during the last off season, even though it was short with the back to back seasons. Now I feel like I’ve got a lot of great time to get better.
