Welcome back IHSA Fall Football!!! As is every August I do conference previews and again please remember predictions and previews mean crap. High school football is the greatest thing because of pure parity. What is up last year could be down this year and what is down last year can up this year. ANYTHING AND I MEAN ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN IHSA FOOTBALL. Also unlike some prep writers who take credit and copy and past the coaches work. Thank You, to the high school coaches that put the info up on HUDL and emailed me info as well. Also I am not taking that much from the COVID Spring Season. Spring Season was a very weird and crazy time. Was going to do Conference Preview videos, but no one needs to see my face till next week. It will be just article form
FOX VALLEY CONFERENCE FALL 2021 Season Preview
This Conference is very confusing this year..... Hampshire had an amazing season in the Spring and now have a target on their backs. I see things sort of returning back to pre-covid times this Fall. To me Cary Grove, Huntley are my top dog teams in the Fox Valley. Cary-Grove has got double edged sword in its passing and run game. Huntley to me has got a great defense along with pretty competitive offensive line. I think the biggest question is can they repeat their success from the spring along with the QB play. For my contenders I have Prairie Ridge and Hampshire in the FVC. Prairie Ridge is Prairie Ridge with the level of top athletic players and smash mouth linemen. Hampshire returns their star QB and playmaking passing attack that makes DBs sweat. I really think Crystal Lake South, Jacobs, Crystal Lake Central are going to surprise some people this season. Gators football had a fluke of a season in the Spring, and love that Offense. Jacobs to me is going to be a complete surprise with some of their offensive playmakers main question will be their QB. The only other solid team I see in this season for the FVC is Crystal Lake Central that no one is really talking about along with good group of seniors returning. McHenry turned some heads last season but I just see that schedule being too stacked against them. Burlington Central is team to me that looks good in 2022 but I see some growth still needed with Melvin's Bunch. Dundee-Crown looks to have another tough season but has some nice speed in the backfield.
Best Bet: 1 Fox Valley Team will be in a IHSA Semi-Final Game this Fall
Tell Me Why: Why does Prairie Ridge and Cary Grove give defensive coordinators around Illinois night sweats
Tell Me Why 2: Fox Valley has such a positive and vibrant linemen culture
Tell Me Why 3: Burlington Central is a program that still people need to lookout for in the coming years
