Ethan Ladd Macomb OL/ER Class of 2023 6'2 220
Ethan Ladd how was your junior season? My junior year was awesome. It was nice to finally get back to somewhat normal after a COVID spring season. I did great on both sides of the ball, achieving 1st team All-Conference for Center and Defensive End, but I couldn’t have done that without my teammates. We all came together during this season and made the playoffs for the first time in 12 years! What does football mean to you? Football means everything to me. Everything I do is for football. I push myself out on the wrestling mat to become a better football player. I also push myself in the weight room to better myself for football. But football also gives back. It teaches me to be a leader and a better teammate, and when things get hard you know you can always get through it. What should college coaches know about you? They should know they are going to get the best out of me. There is no one else that will work as hard as me and be willing to go the extra mile to achieve what I want to achieve in the sport. How has wrestling helped your game in football? I truly believe wrestling is the hardest sport in the world. There is no sport in the world that will push you as hard as it does and make you want to quit so many times. There is a quote by Dan Gable that says, “Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy.” I take this to heart, and it really does translate to the football field. Having wrestled all throughout high school, I notice each year how much more explosive and athletic I become. How does Macomb look for the upcoming season? Our team is looking to be one of the best Macomb teams in a long time. We are almost returning all of our starters and looking to make a deep playoff run. What goals do you have for yourself this season? I have both on the field goals as well as well as off the field goals. I would be crazy to not say win a state championship, we have all the tools and determination to go all the way this year. I also have goals to make my teammates better. You are only as strong as the person beside you on the football field. After this upcoming season, I want to be remembered as not just a good football player, but as a great person.
