Payton Roberson Lockport Linebacker Class Of 2025 5'11 205
Payton Roberson how has your offseason been so far? My off-season has been full of work getting me size and speed along with wrestling on varsity with a record of 11-3. How was your sophomore season? My sophomore season went great I was making plays left and right however I wish I could have got a little more varsity experience than I did. During our Glenbard West game I was put in and had some nice tackles. What does football mean to you? Everything, I think about it 24/7 working on my skills every day to become the best version of myself. What should college coaches know about you? I do very good in the classroom. When I play I leave no regrets and leave everything I have on the field. I would say my work ethic is definitely my best strength.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
My strongest trait is tackling. I feel like wrestling really helped me to make good form tackles, while the mental part of wrestling taught me to hit hard.
What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?
I want to be a dominant player on the field. I want to play a key role in our defense’s success at Lockport.
How does Lockport look for the upcoming season?
I think Lockport will have a great season. We have many skillsets all around the team. I am excited to see what we are capable of.
Who else on Lockport should we be on the lookout for this upcoming season? Our linebacker group is something special. John Sherrod, who is also a sophomore, will be a standout player at middle linebacker along with Jameson Clark who also plays middle linebacker.
