Exciting and dramatic games took place in the cold for the IHSA 2021 Quarterfinals. Lake Forest comes back and stuns Prairie Ridge in Class 6A action. Brother Rice beats Mount Carmel again for a second time this fall and puts to sleep the old theory "don't want to see a conference rival you beat in the playoffs". Loyola has a defensive battle with Lincoln Way East and wins 3-0 to escape to the semifinals. Richmond Burton beats Phillips in a epic playoff battle in Chicago for Class 4A action . Maine South snags a huge win over Neuqua Valley in the 8A Class in Naperville. We got another Leonard Bowl for the IHSA semifinals and Wilmington gets the huge win over Bishop Mac. Kankakee and Crete-Monee get the bigtime wins on Saturday and look to get that one last win to get to DeKalb. Joliet Catholic, Rochester, ICCP, St. Rita, Marist, St. Teresa win easily in their respective classes. Lockport comes out victors of a brawl of a game with Glenbard North in 8A. Abingdon-Avon losses in a huge upset to Ridgeview-Lexington in Class 1A action. Well in the NUIC 1A Quarterfinal game Lena-Winslow is still Lena-Winslow and advances to the semifinal game. As always after every round public school fans are still angry at private schools playing in the same playoffs.
