Bryson Thomas how was your junior season? I’ll say it was a pretty great season for our program!! Every year since my freshmen year we’ve improved we’ve went 7-3 overall in the CS8 conference which is a very competitive conference competing against state caliber teams like Rochester and Sacred Heart Griffin, we made it to Round 2 playoffs which is a huge milestone for our program. We were very loaded with seniors' great bond I was behind very talented seniors, so I've never had the chance to perform at my peak, but with this upcoming season I'm going to be a huge role in our offense scheme along with our upcoming impressive underclassmen. What does football mean to you? The greatest game of all time... I've played the game since 2nd grade and I was very terrible at the game I played left guard and defense, I really dreamed from that moment to play college football D1-JUCO, just playing at the next level. So, I work my tail off my 3rd grade year with my grandfather and started changing and progressing quickly, now I'm play RB slot WR outside LB just all-around athlete!! The game introduces me to many of my current friends and teammates, meeting big coaches, going to U of I camp and getting coached up by the best, taught me many life lessons. The game just really saves my life, it kept me away and safe from gang violence in my city. Kept me in school all the time, my whole goal is go to the next level, prove the people that doubt me. Make it for my single mom , make it for the younger kids in my city that dreamed the same thing I dreamed and let them know that it's possible!! I think it's safe to say I love the game big time. What should college coaches know about you? I am a boy that loves Jesus and football, and I am very coachable I'm sort of like a sponge. I sit and listen and watch then soak it all in then implement it to my craft. I am a phenomenal teammate but also very competitive that likes to win, I am pretty confident in myself. Despite my size I know I can ball out on the field I have a big heart that never gives up no matter what the score is and play whatever coach wants me at to help our team win. This is the breakout year!!! How does Springfield football look for the upcoming season? Alot of peers our counting us out, overlooking our upcoming underclassmen, plenty of potential weapons on our team. I'm currently in the middle of track season so I'm not with the team as much but every time. I've step in the weight room they're always maxing out getting in great lifts plenty of PRS, very loud and positive motivating one another. Our offensive line should be pretty smooth for the upcoming season can't wait to get back to work with my family. I believe we got what it takes to be a state caliber team and shock our conference big time!!
