Clay Bruno good start off to your season... What do you attribute that to?
I couldn’t ask for a better situation than the one I am in. Having coach Leonard who is one of the best in the nation is such an advantage. Our whole coaching staff is one of the best units in the state.
What has been one of your favorite memories so far?
Having our first game of the year be at home and that first time running out onto the field as a senior in front of our fans knowing it’s our last shot at state. That’s probably my best memory so far
What should college coaches know about you?
I have grown up in a winning program with a strong tradition of doing things the right way and I’m looking to bring not only my abilities to my college team but the experiences I have had and the mindset to lead a program.
What does football mean to you?
Football means a lot me. It’s something I want to do for as long as I possibly can. To play football and to play it well you have to have a certain love for the game that’s just different. And I do. It’s almost like it’s in my blood.
What challenge do you see next week in MacArthur?
MacArthur is a very athletic team. They play hard and physical for 4 quarters and we know they have great athletes. They have good coaches that prepare them well for every week. And we fully expect a hard fought and physical type of game from them on Friday night.
What do you like about playing QB?
I like everything about it. Spending time watching the opponent all week leading up to the game looking for different places to run to or throw to. Playing QB is like playing a chess game. You have to think a number of moves ahead of your opponent. And be ready to adapt at any moment. Being the QB comes with being a leader of the team and I love that also. Hyping the guys up before the games or talking to them at halftime or on the side lines. Picking coach Leonard’s brain on things and asking him questions. The list goes on and on. It’s amazing and I love doing what we do.
