Michael Roath South Elgin Class of 2021 OL 6'1
Michael Roath how was your 2018 season?
It was great for me and my team. For me I played up on varsity and ended the year all-conference as a sophomore. I also made academic all state. As a team we went 7-3 and we made it to the playoffs.
What should college coaches know about you?
I’m a hard worker on the field and in the classroom. I am coachable and am always ready to learn
How was wrestling season for you?
It went great. I ended up with a winning record and I won fresh/soph state. I also qualified for team Illinois for the 16U national duals. I also qualified for Fargo later this summer which is another national tournament
How has your summer college camp season been?
Fun and I learned a lot from them. So far I’ve went to NIU and Iowa. They’ve both had great coaching and great competition.
How does South Elgin look this season?
We’re looking like one of our better teams in these past years. A lot of our players on varsity are returning starters from last year and we’ve all gotten faster and stronger over this off season.
What do you like about playing on the line?
I feel that playing on the line is what wins you games on both sides of the ball the most out of all the other positions. For that reason I love to play it and I’ve played other positions but I feel I fit in and have the most fun on the line.
