Meet Loyola's Christo Kelly Class Of 2020 OL As He Talks About Their Championship Season

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Christo Kelly Loyola Class of 2020 OL 6'2 250

Christo Kelly how was your season?

Amazing, I mean ending in the state championship and winning is something I’ll never forget. It was so special, especially because of where we were and how every single person and supposed “football experts”. It was also bittersweet because of how my older brother Hugh tore his ACL. But it only motivated me to play harder.

What does Loyola football mean to you?

Everything. I can’t put into words what it means to me. What makes football so special is the bonds you form, the lessons you learn, and the memories that will last a lifetime. The best moments and worst moments have revolved Loyola football. But why that is, is because of the time you put in and all of the work that goes into the offseason. When you win it’s so fulfilling but when you lose it sucks not because I’m sad but because the people around me are sad, because we care about each other. Because of Loyola Football I’ve become best friends with my brother, because of how much we’ve bonded. And when you see the players and coach’s show so much emotion and passion it really means a lot. I love Loyola football, I love my teammates and I love my coaches.

What should college coaches know about you?

That I love football and want to win more then anyone else and will do whatever it takes

What advice would you give to any playoff team next year in your guys situation this season?

Don’t listen to anything any football experts, negative alumni, or even negative students say because in the end you guys know what your capable of, not them. And play together and with heart.

Funniest lineman on the Loyola line?

Funniest lineman would defiantly be Gary Pezza.

Toughest part of the offseason is?

Waiting for the next season
