Class OF 2019 RB Keenan Hailey Talks Joliet Catholic Football & Recruiting

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Keenan Hailey Class of 2019 Joliet Catholic 5'10 190

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Keenan is a running back that has quite an impressive burst through the gap. Not afraid to take on linebackers, and to me can used in multiple roles on offense.

Keenan Hailey what schools have you been talking to?

The schools I have been in contact with are UW-Whitewater, ISU, Drake, North Dakota State, Valpo, and Mount Union

Favorite memory from last season?

My favorite memory from last season was any time someone scored a touchdown our hype man Mike Butler (graduated this year) would be the first one down there and try to do a chest bump in the air and ended up falling almost every time while everyone was watching him.

How good can Joliet Catholic be this year?

Joliet Catholic can be unbelievably good this year! We have been working so hard this off season and I couldn’t be more proud enough of my team. The whole football team has a attitude that I have never seen before. We have many 3 year starters for our team that just know our scheme of things and how we operate. If our team chemistry is on point then I feel like we can accomplish anything!

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

A big thing I would like to let college coaches know about me is that I am very competitive, a leader, and versatile. I hate losing the most, I will not stop trying my best until that timer hits 0 on the scoreboard. I love my team mates and as a leader I feel like I should be able to help them succeed on and off the field with whatever they need including school work! I’m also very versatile.. Last year I played fullback which required lots of blocking and running but because that position needed to be filled, I did it no questions asked. I am unselfish and do what’s best for my team at all times! I know when it’s the right time to protect that ball and drop that shoulder or I can be elusive or have some moves.

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

Since freshman year I had a goal set out for myself already.. I want to have 2,000 rushing yards by then end of the season. I am not worried about my big linemen at all, they know what to do and expect this year. I’m counting on them and they’re counting on me and that’s how it’s always been.

This is your last season of Joliet Catholic.... What do you tell the incoming freshmen about Joliet Catholic football?

The best advice I can give to the incoming freshman about Joliet Catholic football would be to listen to the coaches. They know what they are talking about! They have more experience then us and all we’re doing is giving them a hard time while they’re trying to make us better! Most of the coaches have been around the program for so many years I can’t count, but if you do that simple step at JCA you will have no problems and will grow as a player and a person dramatically!
