So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.
Mark Di Iorio Class of 2019 Barrington LB 5'10 200
COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE
Mark is one of the best blitzing linebackers for the class of 2019. Yes he is 5'10 but this guy makes plays like he is 6'3 and does great job of reading his keys a key trait for any good linebacker. Doesnt hesitate at the snap of the ball, knows where his assignment is and attacks that point.
Mark Di lorio what schools have you been talking to?
As for colleges I have been talking currently with Cornell and Princeton as well as Northern Michigan, Carthage, North Central, and other various D2 and D3 programs
What would you like college coaches to know about you?
I know my size may not be ideal for my size but I’m a firm believer in “it’s not about the size of the dog in a fight but the fight in the dog”. I’m a hard hitter and a smart player. With the need to win and I’m willing to go the distance to be great.
Favorite memory from last season?
My favorite memory would probably be sacking the Fremd quarterback and stripping the ball out. It change the momentum of the game and the crowd went wild.
What does football mean to you?
For me Football isn’t just a sport. It’s a necessity in my life that has brought me to be the man I am today. I love the sport and will do anything to continue it as long as I can.
What is one game you wish you could re-play from last season?
Second round of the playoffs versus Minooka high school we lost in OT.
So how does Barrington look for the 2018 season?
We have a young offense this year but, with a lot of new talent. As for our defense we have multiple returners ready to fight our senior year to make it to the state championship.
This is your last season of high school football, What does that mean to you?
I owe it to my teammates, my coaches, the fans, my family, and myself to make this the best season of my life. I am going to work to not just make myself better but also others around me. And make this a season to remember for everyone.
